Minden High School Robotics students were treated to a unique learning experience in the final weeks of the school year thanks to the donation of two DJI Mavic Air drones by Royal Engineered Composites. Although the technology was introduced late in the school year, the class enjoyed the opportunity to fly the drones and anticipate more opportunities for their use in the years to come.
“Having hands-on experience using new technologies, like drones, helps these students be prepared for their future careers,” Royal Engineered Composites Marketing Manager Brett Miller said. “Royal Engineered Composites is a proud supporter of STEM based education and of the excellent new initiatives being developed in Minden Public Schools by great teachers like Mr. Carlson.”
The Robotics class itself is a new addition to the offerings at MHS with the class being introduced two years ago. Instructor Bob Carlson approached Royal Engineered Composites with the idea to bring drones into the classroom after the first year of success.
